Lemon laws state summary

There is the Federal version of lemon law and then there are individual lemon laws pertaining to each state in the US. While some of these state laws are subsets of the Federal lemon law, others have more flexible or accommodating lemon laws.

Federal law

California

In order to qualify you should have undergone at least two attempts to repair the vehicle for a flaw, which can potentially cause serious injury or even death. Otherwise, you should have undergone at least four attempts to repair the vehicle or stayed out of machine service for at least 30 business days.

Thus, as you can see, the lemon laws differ from one state in the US to another. Depending on which state you belong to, you can check with state authorities to see the options available to you and whether you qualify for lemon law protection in your state or not. Some states even have provisions for motorcycles but not all.
